Manga Reviews

Since December 2017, I've begun reviewing another medium: manga! As we were researching ways to expand Hey Poor Player's breadth of content, I figured a medium I've engaged with for over a decade and has audience crossover with gaming would do the trick. Since then, I've reviewed longtime favorites that remain ongoing (One Piece, Case Closed), new releases (Silver Spoon, Astra Lost in Space), or even re-releases of classics I missed out on (Fullmetal Alchemist). As I've been publishing up to three or four reviews a month, it's been an amazing way to not just keep my writing in-shape, but in inspiring my work drive towards penning game reviews here.

As may be evident below, I largely review Shonen properties. While I do branch out to other types of manga (such as Kaguya-sama: Love is War!, which is seinen), it's the medium's largest demographic, so it's only sensible I focus on what's the most popular (that, and well, it's what mostly composes my manga diet, hehe).

Bear in mind, however, there are limitations present: while I plan to see certain series to the end, that won't be the case for every manga I review (sorry, Kaguya fans!). Also, I'm obviously not about to go back and review all the prior volumes for One Piece and Case Closed, which would be beyond unreasonable given their massive length.

With all that in mind, please enjoy my manga reviews!
